MISSION STATEMENT

 

Holy Spirit Faith Formation strives to offer opportunities for lifelong spiritual growth.  Each person called by baptism is encouraged to learn and to grow in a Christ centered community where gifts are shared and each person is welcomed, engaged, motivated, and inspired to evangelize and serve others.

 

GOALS

 

Elementary Grades

 

That the child discovers that each person is called through Baptism to be a disciple of Jesus and a member of God’s family

That the child discovers that each person is called as a disciple of Jesus to love, forgive, and serve others

That the child learns that disciples live, celebrate, and serve within the People of God

That the child discovers that God’s Word in the Bible gives us the guidelines needed to live as disciples of Jesus

That the child discovers that all life is sacred and that the seven sacraments help us experience Christ’s presence and celebrate life’s passages within the Catholic community

 

Middle Grades

 

That the youth become familiar with the Hebrew Scriptures and their importance in the life of discipleship and in the life of the community of disciples, the Church

That the youth become familiar with the origins, nature, and content of the New Testament and its role in the life of discipleship and the life of the community of disciples, the Church

That the youth become more familiar with the nature of the Church, its sacraments, and its history, and with their responsibility as today’s disciples to participate in the Church’s life of worship and mission
