God is Deeply in Love with Us!
Public, in person Baptism Preparation classes have been temporarily suspended to comply with the guidelines established during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an alternative, baptismal preparation will be offered virtually on an individual basis. More information will be forwarded to families upon receipt of their baptism registration form.
Before the celebration of baptism, the church expects parents to be formed in the meaning of the Sacrament as well as its responsibilities (Canon 851). Parents should attend a class prior to their first child’s baptism and/or if parents have not attended a preparation class within the last six years. Babies, godparents, and even grandparents too are warmly invited to join us.
Baptism preparation is central for parents and intended to provide support as they share the faith and practice of the Catholic church with their children. Classes include a discussion of the theology, ritual, and symbols of baptism as well as ways to pray and help your child develop a personal relationship with God. Classes are also a unique opportunity for parents to connect with other young families from the Holy Spirit faith community.
