God is Deeply in Love with Us!
For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. – John 3:17
On this Fourth Sunday of Lent, we can say with joy in our hearts, thanks be to God for the gift of Jesus! John’s gospel reminds us that we have the key to salvation. That key is Jesus, our Savior.
Lent is a beautiful time to remind ourselves of the amazing sacrifice Jesus made for each of us. God’s purpose for sending Jesus into the world was to bring us back to the Father. God’s purpose for sending Jesus into the world was to demonstrate His unconditional love for us—that even while we were and are sinners, he sent Jesus to live, to die, to be raised from the dead in order to save us and to bring us home.
Our job, our call as followers of Jesus, is to listen for God’s voice, to follow where He leads us, and to allow ourselves to be transformed, to be saved, by the very love of the God who made us.
May we walk this day and every day in the light of the One who came to save, Jesus, the Christ.
Jesus, I trust in you.
